1) The USSR firstly proposed an alliance with France and UK against Nazi Germany, they both refused. The USSR signed the non-agression pact bcz at this moment the Soviet Union wasn't industrialized enough to win the war (reminder that the Red Army destroyed 80% of nazi army).
2) And the USSR didn't really invade "core Poland", most of the territories they invaded were mostly Ukrainian and Belarusian territories occupied by Poland since 1920.

And yet somehow leftists are "paranoid" when they denounce CIA propaganda.
