So, what with Labour NEC and Young Labour elections coming up again, here's a thread on who I’ve nominated and why.

Here’s the list of candidates and their statements: https://labour.org.uk/activist-hub/governance-and-legal-hub/ballots-and-nominations/candidate-statements-2020/

If you’re a Labour Party member, you can nominate here: https://partynominations.labour.org.uk/home
For a democratic socialist party, Labour badly needs democratising, and @lara_eleanor as NEC Youth Representative has been leading that charge very well. The work is far from done, so I’m delighted to know that she’s standing for reelection to that post. https://twitter.com/lara_eleanor/status/1280927603663278082?s=20
More tweets on their way...
Labour needs to stand in solidarity with workers and trade unions during coronavirus and with liberation movements such as Black Lives Matter. @JessicaLBarnard has a great record on both, and would make a great Chair of Young Labour. #ForASocialistFuture https://twitter.com/JessicaLBarnard/status/1288506330991427584?s=20
@AnnieMaloney__ is a staunch socialist, trade unionist and LGBTQ+ ally. I’ve seen her in action in building Leeds Young Labour from the ground up, and proudly voted for her as Chair. She’d make a great Young Labour Yorkshire and Humber Representative. https://twitter.com/AnnieMaloney__/status/1290559397501050880?s=20
I'm writing some more tweets for this thread and I've noticed the words "staunch", "socialist" and "trade unionist" keep popping up. It either shows how committed to the cause these candidates are, or how bad a writer I am. Probably both.
