Thinking about how my whole childhood in the US I was told socialism inevitably led to mass death, secret police, voter suppression, food and supply shortages, massive lines, antisemitism, disease, lack of health care, job loss, oppression, etc.

But wouldn’t you know it

I just think it’s funny that we managed it all by ourselves, without socialism or communism! Well not funny, incredibly sad

There’s a lot I still don’t know about socialism and communism, and honestly a lot I don’t really know or understand about capitalism, either. I’m trying to educate myself, but the Adam Smith and Communist Manifesto I read in high school isn’t enough
