This wasn’t noticed until 5 days later when a reliable Korean source reported the BLACKPINK collab was to be with Selena Gomez. @ygent_official announced to wait for an official confirmation, which was also said before a collab was officially announced with Lady Gaga

Both BLACKPINK and Selena work under the same label, @Interscope, as does Lady Gaga who collabed with the group to make Sour Candy

Selena has added BLACKPINKs ‘Kill This Love’ on her cooking playlist as she did with Trevor Daniels ‘Past Life’ before their collaboration came out.

As inactive as Selena is online, she has also liked this IG post of BLACKPINKs Lisa for @VogueKorea posted by Petra Collins, who is a close friend of Selena’s that has also done photoshoots and music videos for her.

Petra Collins has also hinted to being excited for a new project with Selena on Selena’s birthday, which can possibly be with BLACKPINK since she worked with the artists before.

It has also been reported by Selena fans that an inside Selena source has confirmed that the BLACKPINK collab will be for sure with Selena. This same source knew about Selena’s LAHN/LYTLM before its official public release.

Although @ygent_official have asked fans to wait for the official announcement, several other sources like @iHeartRadio have taken the original announcement by the Korean source (My Daily) as factual, giving the impression that the collaboration is real

Amongst speculation as to who will be the feature, Selena has recently posted this video hinting to new exciting/personal things that she’s been working on that will be coming out soon.

Going back to the BLACKPINKs mystery feature post, which was posted on Selena’s birthday, some fans have noticed how similar the background appears to a cake. It was also noted by fans how Selena’s birthday post with her balloons and the background are black and pink.

Rumor is now circulating that the feature will include @djsnake. This does not exclude Selena since her & the DJ are friends & have collaborated before with ‘Taki Taki.’ He also wished Selena happy birthday and included a picture of them on the set of the ‘Taki Taki’ video.

Update: Somebody left this comment about Selena and BLACKPINK under Aleen’s IG post (Selena’s manager). Not sure if she is confirming but her manager did like the comment.

@iHeartRadio has posted recently again, giving the impression that the collab with Selena is still highly probable and most likely real.

There is also speculation that the official release will be August 14th. The announcement for this is largely anticipated in the next few days.

Although there has been an ongoing debate that the collab is really with Ariana, it has also been rumored that Ariana will actually be collabing with BLACKPINK for their album or AG6 and not the August pre single.

As previously noted on this thread, it was noticed by Selena fans that Selena’s manager liked a tweet about BLACKPINK x Selena collab. This was reported on a Selena IG fan page which was also liked by Selena’s manager.

UPDATE: A date has officially been released. The Selena source was at least right in saying there will be an announcement yesterday/today. It is possible then that the mystery reveal won’t be until the 14th.

Petra is brought up again due to the styles represented by BLACKPINK in the release date poster. Many think this is very similar to Selena’s style, like in the MV ‘Fetish,’ filmed by Petra. As previously noted on this thread, Petra also mentioned a surprise project on Sel’s bday.
