This why I LOVE revisiting old shows.
I just finished S1E06 where we enter into Raven’s mind and honestly, Raven has the best character centered episodes.
Her whole character theme was embracing her emotions and realizing they are not weaknesses, they are her strength.

When she fights the manifestation of hatred, she fuses with “other selves”/her emotions to show that there’s power in them. And that theme stays with her whole character arc.
White Raven is symbolic of her being a WHOLE person, emotions and all.

What I notice about Beast Boy, he’s mostly used a tool to keep the story moving forward. And he’s mostly the one learning lessons especially about empathy and being a better person. For Season 1, mostly. He doesn’t have a noticeable arc.

The way they had Starfire as Miss Damsel in Distress for most of season 1 doesn’t sit well with me.
The way they reworked Dick Grayson’s main theme of not becoming Batman and being his own man/hero into becoming like Slade was done well.
His whole fear of becoming like Slade (just like Bats) when he actually is. Realizing he’s not because he has his friends with him.

Ahhh yes, another Raven centered episode. One of my favorites. This episode really showed how powerful Raven is just on raw power.
And the whole episode is based on her conquering her fear ... thus fighting “Control Freak” which was alluded to Raven too.

The way this thread became a Cyborg Stan account. The writers loved him. He had the most character centered episodes and I understand way. He truly is the heart of the series. A good man with a good heart and makes time for his team/friends.
