So like... half the project is done already and i dont have pictures for it all but this is me turning a pair of jeans into a fancy red skirt inspired by the alexander mcqueen roses: a thread
I bought a pair of jeans from a thrift store
It was my first time walking into a shop like that and i thought the owner was gonna maybe kidnap me and sell my organs to the black market due to his off vibes but thankfully none of that happened
Then 2 months later or so when i decided to get on it
-i had life drama going on dont judge-
i tried it on and cut the pants about the length i wanted it, maybe a little longer, because initially i intended to sew the hem but in the end i let it be because "dEcOnStRuCtIoN"
And then i ripped the seams with a tool that does just that but HECK-
that took a while...
And then i tried to pin it together in the middle like no big deal- nothing is missing from here- the fabric was supposed to be cut that way from the very beginning because this is definitely the right pattern for a skirt

Took it to the sewing machine and ended up looking like:
Then at this point i cut a liddol trianglular piece from the leftover pants
(maybe i should have pointed out that !DONT DISCARD THEM! but this isnt a tutorial and i doubt anyone will follow along without having read through at least once)
and sew it on the back cause that was
RISQUE
and chop chop trim a little bit to straighten the back cause that was like a penguin tux thing but there are no pictures from this step BECAUSEIRUSHEDANDTHREWITINTHEBLEACH
Where i left it in the sun for like 2 hours and surprisingly it was pretty much done (apart from some patches so i rubbed it in a bit and left it a while longer but you could probably do a better job and avoid that idk ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯)
And i was like "wow thats so white wtf" but then i took it inside to wash and it was yellowish
Now that really doesnt matter because im gonna dye it red anyway and fabrics dont come white by nature but ngl it made me wonder if it was bc of the chlorine
Because here we dont have that good good clorox shit
Nah-ah
Here its all yellow or purple
Idfk
*one sick break*
I am now dying the thing as we are speaking
and despite having read the 3 simple steps several times i managed to skip a part anyway but it should turn out fine so its oki...

look at it its so pretty
Okay please be careful with this because i looked away to be on twt for 5 minutes and now even my livingroom looks like i murdered someone
Idk how it got here
Okay i have the temp really low but still it happened again idk
There is no stopping the mess
Dont pick red as your color
So far looks like a success tho
My mental health got in the way and i forgot about this but now exams season starts in like 4 days so gotta go fast 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
This is how it came out
Bought elastic and buttons because i have to take in the waist 1-2 inches

You can see i already made the holes for the canal and sewed on the buttons because i completely forgot about this thread
Now i only have to cut a piece of the elastic, pass it through and button it
Also the elastic is hard elastic because the fabric is also that
(its jeans, not soft denim)
Soft elastic is for soft fabrics
This is something I learned today
