Silva had superb all round threat for a classic attacking playmaker. Great goal+assist threat for all 10 years along with the playmaking. Personally consider him to better than Iniesta and many others because of that. Like 1/5th of Messi.
Positional versitality is also incredible. Wide left in 4-4-2, 8 in 4-3-3, right wing in 4-3-3/4-2-3-1. Could play anywhere for any type of manager. That’s a true great imo. A player beyond systems.
Only PL player who could compare with the positional and tactical versatility + workrate + goal & assist threat * playmaking in the final third was Lallana at his rare phases of form and fitness. What a wasted career that ended up being.
I had thought if Liverpool were to win the league it would be with Keita and Lallana playing 25+ starts to compete with Silva and De Bruyne in the ability to break set defences + goals and assists from midfield. Didn’t think 2 fullbacks would do all that instead.
Cazorla’s also there but I don’t think he played that much as a proper final third playmaker, getting between the lines.
