Here's a sobering fact.

If this administration declared today that all Black families were to be arrested and imprisoned immediately, it would happen.

Nobody would stop it.

You know how I know?

There are kids in concentration camps in the US right now. Still.
It might soothe you to believe that somehow there would be national pushback and that no one would ever allow this happen.

But in truth, it would just happen.

It would happen so fast nobody would know what to do.
Now I'm sure there'd be resistance to the idea and that many people would lobby and there would be protests and such.

But nobody would stop it from happening.

Sit with that for a minute.
If armed forces started coming door to door, dragging Black families out of their houses in the dead of night, it would just happen.

Hell. It happens now.
I'm not being cynical. I'm looking at history.

Recent history.

America shrugged when ICE agents flooded cities and kidnapped undocumented families.

Because they invented some thin justification and that's all America needed to not care.
Once America decided that SOME people can languish in concentration camps, it opened the door to anyone languishing in concentration camps.

That's how atrocities work. Step by step. Till the big stuff just... happens.
40 years ago Black People were railing about the carceral state.

And America shrugged.

20 years ago leftists were railing about torture and a surveillance state.

And America shrugged.

5 years ago, police shootings

3 years ago, Trump

1 year ago, ICE.

America shrugged.
And now America is shocked and confused about how we ended up a nation of protests under a ballooning pandemic.

And why the next escalation is going to surprise everyone too
So step in my shoes for a second.

Then explain to me why it is that I should feel secure that what you endorsed and allowed to happen to a group America has despised for much less time than Black people (undocumented immigrants) won't happen to me and my family?
