My thoughts on cross party working - a thread....

The Govt misled & gaslit the nation in the lead up to Dec 12th 2019. There was never an 'oven ready deal' there was no plan for economic fortitude after the no-deal #Brexit the far right Vote Leave Tory party largely want
In short - they lied. They threw away any sort of decency the Tories once had. Cancelled the likes of Gauke, Stewart and Grieve, and threw the country to the wolves. They changed the rules - and here's how we fightback to reset the clocks.
Many moderate democracies operate with coalition Governments. The rulers are obliged to take note of other parties, and as centrists we often hold influence. We have no chance of this occurring in the UK, 2020 style. In reality, no party has come from so far back to win
a majority, as Labour would now need to. The Greens (like us) are woefully under represented democratically. So, let's plot the course to unseating the worst Govt in my lifetime - Co-operation.
For ONE general election, and one only, we reduce our political reliance on our party 'colours'. In Tory/LD facing seats, I want Labour not to stand. In Tory/Labour seats, we shouldn't stand. (reminder: ONE election only) we actually support unity, anti-Tory candidates.
We don't campaign against the SNP, Plaid, or other opposition parties. They are not our enemy in this - we disagree on many things, but not as much as we agree that the country cannot stand another term of eugenics, Libertarianism, jingoism, hubris, populism and downright lies.
We therefore stand the very best chance of denying the Tories another majority. From the day after the GE, we then politely uncouple, us pushing a Liberal agenda, Labour (under KS) back to moderate socialism. The other opposition go back to their own policy agendas.
Democracy will be restored, co-operation will be obvious, and better, cogent, thought through decisions will be clear. Work together, use the best politicians cross party to handle the challenges of the climate emergency, honesty, Europe, and the social horror inflicted on us
by those in power who clearly don't care for anyone apart from their hedge fund, Oligarch, de-regulated economy loving friends. Civil disobedience isn't the answer, that's all of us behaving as badly as the Tories. This plan isn't the perfect answer - and no answer is or will be
it is though, I feel, a pragmatic way of achieving what appears out of reach currently, which is an end to this social and political catastrophe. Of course, all of this is open to debate, and I'll be very interested to hear all views, for and against. So here, I'm opening
a debate I feel needs to be had. Thanks for reading. I'm a recent Lib Dem, I didn't agree with much of the coalition, and it's time to move on. We can't keep fighting the 2017 election, and this way comes change, hope, and a future.
