Bharat has suffered 800+ yrs of Khilji, Ghori, Lodhi, Gazhani, Mughal invasions one after other. Next British, Portuguese & others ruled us for around 200 yrs. Each time we had invasions, our monuments, scriptures, valuables & most importantly our culture were destroyed.
Vedas, Ramayan & Mahabharat were worst hit by distortion of facts.
But, we can still link geographical mentions found in Ramayan into modern times

No other nation & no other religion in the world, has such an ancient history, supported by evidences of architecture,
natural structures & literature.

let us see some of those very briefly ..

1. 73 ancestors of Lord Ram has been mentioned along with details of their life story, in Ramayan. Had it been only a poem it would not had these details.

2. Rishi Valimiki mentions in Ramayan, that he is documenting Itihaas .. which mean - (facts, as it occured).

4. Geographical descriptions that Sugriv narrates in lengths to his team who were to find Sita mata. In this he mentions Mt. Kailash, Indonesia, Gympie pyramid, Australia amongst other locations. In Gympie, statues of Hindu gods have been found.
5. Rishi Valmiki describes that beyond lake Vaikhana, in the North, you will come across sky, which, despite devoid of stars & moon, or sun has illuminated rays. This is called Auroura Borealis today.

the end of the east, demarcated by a 3 branched, Tala tree, which shines from the top to bottom, carved on Mountain. This fact, documented around 7000 yrs ago & such a 3 branched tree is discovered in S.America, on offshoot of Mt. Andes, near the Bay of Pisco. It is 820 ft tall
7. Genetics scientist of the Estonian Biocentre included scientists from Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology, Hyderabad; Delhi University; Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur, Institute of Scientific Research on Vedas. It has been found that the Bhils, Gonds & Kol
communities are the true descendants of characters mentioned in Ramayan.

Lord Ram had establish Shivapind here & had prayed to Shiva.

10. Ramayan mentions that Lord Ram prayed to Shiva after committing bramha hatya, for rescuing Sita mata. He halted at this place, Munneswaram & Manavari. Here Lord Ram established Shivapind.
It is said to be the only lingam which is named after Lord Ram other than the one in Rameshwaram. Local Srilankans believe in this.

11. When Lord Ravana abducted Sita mata, it is said that they bumped into Jatayu who tried his best to protect her.
Jatayu, is said to be a demi-god in vulture form. The place where he fought Raavan is - Lepakshi, which exists even today. Lepakshi means- rise, oh bird ! In Telugu.

Doulkanda is one such site. This mountain contains miraculous herbs and plants linking to the Himalayas.

Ramayana and Mahabharata are the documented evidence for Lord Ram & Lord Krishn

Doubting our pious scriptures is doubting the very existence of Bharat.
This is just a small attempt to compile.
