CW mistreating their POC and LGBT characters in The 100, The Vampire Diaries Universe, Dynasty and Riverdale, a much needed thread. Part 1
The 100:
Wells Jaha - murdered pointlessly three episodes in and completely forgotten, despite his importance to the main character
Lincoln - Brutally executed by a cop while the love of his life watched, questionable treatment of the actor himself
Thelonious Jaha - Constantly villainized and presented as crazy, questionable treatment of the actor
Monty Green - Treated as the token Asian rep character, given Asian stereotypes of only being smart/nerdy and died for no reason
Eric Jackson - Given virtually no storyline and spent 6 seasons following Abby around, used as a checkbox for MLM representation.
Nathan Miller - Given no storyline, spends most of his time standing in the background holding a gun, used as a token POC LGBT male
Lexa - Brutally murdered after consummating her relationship with her lover, fans were queer baited and encouraged to watch the episode with her death live
"the pain will be delicious"
Bryan - Given no storyline, used as a token gay character and never mentioned or seen again after fighting with his boyfriend
The Vampire Diaries: (LGBT rep in this show is atrocious)
Bonnie Bennet - Constantly sacrificed herself for her white friends who mistreated and didn’t appreciate her, love of her life was murdered in front of her by a white character who was forgiven, used as a token POC
Luke Parker - Sexuality briefly mentioned in passing, given no storyline and then murdered by his brother
Nora and Mary Louise - Villainized and kept apart for years, experimented on and then committed suicide together, first LGBT couple on TVD after 7 seasons
Cade - Villainized by being the literal devil, easily outsmarted and killed by white characters
Dorian Williams - Constantly sidelined and ignored in Legacies, villainized for trying to take revenge on Stefan who murdered his entire family for fun
Qetsiyah / "Tessa" - Presented as a crazy ex-girlfriend, villainized and given a white name to make her one “easier” to pronounce
Dynasty:
Steven Carrington - Given gay stereotypes, manipulated into a complete psychotic breakdown by his brother and abandoned by his family in a mental hospital, almost never mentioned again
Michael Culhane - Constantly villainized, mistreated/framed by his white boss, treated as a second option/mistake by his girlfriend
Jeff Colby - Villainized for wanting justice after being abused, lied to and manipulated by the Carringtons his entire life, poisoned and given a terminal condition by his psychotic white cousin who is currently on a redemption ark while jeff is still a villain
Sam Jones - Sidelined and treated as a second choice, given gay stereotypes
Kirby Anders - Sexuality mentioned in passing but presented as straight afterwards, abused by the Carringtons as a child, treated as disposable by the Carringtons, neglected by her friends enough for them to allow her to be indoctrinated into a cult
Cecil Coby - Villainized for wanting revenge on the Carringtons after they ruined his entire life and put him in prison for a majority of his children’s lives
The Originals:
Vincent Griffith - Constantly sacrificing everything to aid the white main characters, body snatched by a white man, storylines often sidelined
Marcel Gerard - Constantly treated like an outsider in his own family and frequently betrayed/abandoned by them, villainized because of it
Josh Rosza - Token gay character with stereotypes, often sidelined, love of his life was murdered as they were planning to start a life together, pointlessly died
Aiden - Token gay character, brutally murdered unnecessarily as he was trying to start a life with his boyfriend

Legacies:
Josie Saltzman - Constantly sacrifices her own mental health and physical health for the benefit of others, especially her sister
Kaleb - Sidelined and given virtually no storyline in comparison to white characters
Rafael Waithe - Sidelined and given virtually no storyline in comparison to white characters, treated as a second choice and neglected by his brother
Penelope Park - Villainized and treated as disposable when she suddenly left the school
Alyssa Chang - Villainized and presented as a crazy control freak, murdered and brought back to life as a slave
Riverdale (Less familiar with this show):
Toni Topaz - Token POC bisexual character, constantly sidelined and follows the white characters around despite being a season regular, given virtually no backstory despite constant requests from the actress
Kevin Keller - Gay best friend trope, mistreated by his straight friends
Reggie Mantle - Treated as a second choice and presented as just a jock
Cheryl Blossom - Presented as completely crazy and a control freak, falls into many stereotypes
