Capitalizing “white” turns the whole point of capitalizing Black from something meaningful into meaningless symbolism and getting focused on capitalization for “white” just as we won the “Black” battle is the height of trolling
Like “oh did a nearly 50 year Black theory movement have a victory? Well actually, white ...”
Capital B is an expression of Black power in the face of white supremacy. Capitalizing w to highlight white power — in response — is ... certainly a choice.
The whole point is to disempower whiteness — which is a devastatingly violent power structure — so that all people (incl those socially defined as white) can be free. Disempowering it grammatically is one small thing. But it is a thing. Our grammar can be aspirational.
