With the rapid technology growth and even right now more than ever of sudden moves to virtual platforms, communication access such as captioning and audio descriptions are all too often forgotten, even though Section 508 is a part of the ADA! #ADA30 3/9

Not a part of ADA: housing issues-it is so hard to find accessible, affordable housing. The few accessible units get rented to non-disabled people all the time. Worse as disabled POC. There is no mechanism for actual ADA units to be prioritized for disabled people. #ADA30 4/9

Unless you are lucky to be privileged enough to build an accessible home/condo for yourself from the ground up, the buyers market is just as complicated and the costs of major renovations then fall on you the disabled person. #ADA30 5/9

Our healthcare system is not at *all* compliant w ADA -- I cannot tell you the last time that I was weighed at the dr's office bc they don't have scales, had recent debacle trying to get routine x-rays at a major hospital too -- none of these barriers should happen. #ADA30 6/9

Months ago, I tried to go to the movies w my friends & could not get accessible tickets via the website. I filed a report with my state disability rights organization. Just recently, the major corp came back with: we're sorry, it's a pandemic, this will have to wait. #ADA30 7/9

No, I'm not trying to go to the movies in a pandemic, but because of the length of time since filing (6 months) my case is now closed, with no resolution. #ADA30 8/9
