Steele's strategic assessment was presented in August 2018 to the Intelligence and Security Committee. Now that the report is finally out, it can be revealed.

It is substantive and adds professional detail and rigor. It is *not* the raw HUMINT of "The Dossier."

Putin and Russia, according to Steele, didn't need to have this much power - and in fact they may be in real trouble.

The West let this happen (which perhaps means we can take effective action now.)

According to Steele, Putin's major gambits have been out of panic over losing his own power - but when he wins without much pushback, he keeps going.

This tracks with many analysts thoughts that Russia is awesome at tactics, but messy with strategy.

Every time Putin got away with the worst rogue behavior, it just inspired more and worse conduct. This is quite a list.

Good reason to push back with extreme prejudice, ASAP.

Fascinating: most analysts and operatives were caught short (including Steele himself!) because...nobody saw Putin attempting something so insane.

And when we met his actions with traditional responses, he just went harder, right for the throat.

Basically, there's no getting along with Russia as long as KGB douchebags and Mobsters are running the joint.

Which they are.

"It's time to get these Kremlin snakes off this UK plane!" if you will.

Steele describes deep Russian subversion in the UK. It gets spicy quick.

"WAKE UP, UK: YOU'RE COVERED IN RUSSIAN AGENTS, GOT IT???"

HERE WE GO: According to Steele, Russia is the biggest threat to the UK, and worse than any terrorist group out there.

"INTELLIGENCE CHALLENGE: WE NEED LOTS MORE SPIES, BECAUSE RUSSIA IS A BIG DODGY MOBBED-UP SPYOCRACY."

"Did I mention all of Russia is a spyocracy? Spies everywhere. Turn over a rock? Spies. SPIES."

Decisionmaking is now really about individuals, families, and businesses, not just the government.

(Sounds a little like a Mob state.)

NOTE TO EVERY KNUCKLEHEAD IN U.S. MEDIA WHO COMPLAINED ABOUT RT HAVING TO REGISTER FARA:

Speaking of FARA, does the UK have such a thing? Because Mr. Steele points out they have quite a few Russians using professional services firms as foreign agents.

STEELE: "More counterintelligence budget, please."

CRITICAL:
- Her Majesty's Government dropped the ball on Russia
- Ignoring that Trump and his family AND administration were owned by Russia was bad
- Intelligence did its job, politicians did not

Huge statements here: Putin is achieving what many before him dreamed, but could not pull off.

The UK has to push back or end up like Hungary.

"YOU WANT TO FIGHT PUTIN? TAKE. THEIR. MONEY."
