Have you no decency, @Metrolinx? Jane-Finch has been planning the arts and culture community hub for years, relying on your repeated promises to make land available. And now you’re planning to sell the property instead?

SHAME. SHAME. SHAME.

Here’s the thing: @Metrolinx underestimated the power, strength, and brilliance of Jane-Finch community members. Groups like @JFAAP are pushing back. They are organized and strategic.

It was a serious miscalculation to try and renege, assuming there’d be no consequences.

But here’s the other thing: The seemingly endless fight for justice is a heavy burden to bear. It’s exhausting and unfair.

As expressed by local organizer @SamTecle, “We never get to envision and plan and dream for ourselves because we’re running from one fight to another.”

Still, I have faith the community will prevail. And I hope @Metrolinx won’t make the struggle too hard—simple solution is to follow through on the promise to provide land. Anything less is a betrayal.

Is this really the political climate for blatantly anti-Black policy? Really?
