For some background reading on this fraud, I would suggest @Laurie_Garrett’s piece basically predicting all of this upon his appointment. In particular he was chosen because he is the exact type of theocratic hack who will sacrifice scientific accuracy for ideologic extremism. See for instance *his history of rejection of condoms for HIV/AIDS control* or his disgraceful handling of the HIV crisis.
He is, and has always been, a hack. He is not to be trusted, and to say that about the head of one of the premier scientific agencies in the world just goes to show how low 45 has brought us as a country.
