ok so i forgot about this.

the duino elegies' connection to extraordinary you: a thread https://twitter.com/skwoonierw/status/1286279206876221440
The Duino Elegies by Bohemian-Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke, in its denotative sense, are literary pieces that invoke stories about religious matters such as angels, subjects on love and lover, fate, and its theme:
"limitations and insufficiency of the human condition and fractured human consciousness."

the quoted theme states much about the webtoon turned drama. hence, the set up.
the duino elegies also used a psychoanalytic approach called "jungian analysis"—making people conscious of their own psychic reality, of their inner world.

this approach is said to be self-expressions of the inner world in symbolic form.
in this case, it's Dan Oh's watch, HaRu's scar, the trumpet creeper, and the 100-year old tree.

thus, making them gain self-awareness when these forms are expressed.
on the fourth elegy, it is stated that "everything is not itself", so u probably already get the meaning of this concept as the plot revolves around a comic book, LITERALLY
also, a reference to what HaRu said on the tree trek episode that "this is not real. we are the real ones" while pointing at the mannequin.

now, to the drama's plot. extraordinary you gave HaRu a backstory which lacked previously on the original webtoon "july found by chance"
while we accept that HaRu cease to exist for Dan Oh only, we also cant deny that he is a much more complex character than of what we think he is.

those who have watched the series might recall Ju Da calling Do Hwa her guardian angel, so i am referencing this to HaRu as well.
on the early episodes of the drama, it was mentioned there that how can someone so handsome be a nameless extra in a comic book.
well, at the onset of the first elegy of the duino elegies, rilke defined beauty as

"nothing but the beginning of terror which we are barely able to endure, and we are so awed because it serenely disdains to annihilate us"
rilke depicted this infinite, transcendental beauty with the symbol of angels. so to speak, HaRu is Dan Oh's angel.

also, you'd notice why HaRu always appears backlit in the drama.
the duino elegies' final theme also mentioned the struggle between consciousness and fate.

hence, the endless i'd save yous and i'll always wait for yous.
this holds out the hopeful chance that fate itself can be overcome through symbolic consciousness, that through it, we can be transformed into parts of our inner world that we move through rather than remaining on something that dominates us.
see where im going at?

thinking of how they used a psychological approach as to how HaRu and Dan Oh can familiarize themselves in the new manhwa is overwhelmingly impressive—that u can only perceive something by being aware of what is not.
DISCLAIMER: all views are mine (with reference of the internet).

I really believe this filler scene played a huge role and should be given more emphasis so viewers may be engrossed to the story.
OH MY GOD I HOPE I MADE SENSE SKAKSKAKAKA
