I remember watching this video for the first time for a mandatory English assignment in 2014/15 and I remember being rather reluctant to watch it in the first place because high school me wasn't very into watching TED talks. (video linked @ the end)
But, there was something so compelling about this woman- the way she spoke, how relatable I found her story, the way she held herself while presenting (and ofc the fact that she featured on one of my favorite Beyonce songs also helped the cause I think).
In the discussion we had after watching this video I remember feeling so passionately about what was said and just so completely inspired

Now rewatching it more than 5 yrs later, I have so much more to take away from it, so many new biases to keep in check, a diff way to see it
There's just something so comforting revisiting works like this. A familiarity with the content but unfamiliarity with the reaction is elicits. Especially now being a student of journalism this video brings out so clearly the danger of presenting a singular narrative
