For those of you who aren't in the loop, the flood situation in North East India is still pretty bad. 100+ people have lost their lives and lakhs have lost their homes and source of livelihood. Just as things were subsiding, the IMD has predicted heavy rains again starting today.

The lack of awareness surrounding this is appalling but not surprising. As Indians, when have we ever actually cared about the northeast? I guess people drowning to death is not as sensationalist as banning a couple dozen Chinese apps. #NorthEastMatters

It's not just human lives at stake here. At least 9 of the endangered one-horned rhinos have died besides hundreds of other animals. NONE OF THIS IS IN THE NEWS.
