The year is 2043. All products and services in the UK are provided on prescription through the NHS. No-one remembers that GPs used to do medicine. Instead, they have become powerful bureaucrats who control access to all vital resources. The government is a puppet of the RCGP.

The NHS budget makes up 97% of public spending. This includes NHS International Development, NHS Defence Services, and NHS Culture.

Participation in the weekly Two Minutes Love for the NHS is mandatory. Not participating can lead to withdrawal of prescription services. Regular non-participants are added to a list of Enemies of the NHS.

Risk stratification now determines education and employment opportunities. People not engaging with their case managers are sent to Patient Reactivation centres. There is still no good evidence for any of these measures.
