I promise one thing, if today India's liberal secular activists do not #SpeakUpForDemocracy just because the call is given by @INCIndia, I will no longer extend my support to all the activities they do when they ask me to retweet their causes and hashtags. #SpeakUpIndia
Because this is hypocrisy. If NGOs and activists claim to fight fascism they have to speak up for the basis of democracy, electoral mandate. Today Rajasthan's mandate is at stake, if you keep quiet just because you are too coward to stand up for Cong, you don't deserve anything.
I have an average monthly reach of 6 million Tweet impressions. Activists requests me to retweet their causes, help them trend a hashtag all the time. But this is a fake fight if they do not know when to speak up for which party. #SpeakUpForDemocracy
This is how battle lines are drawn, how you identify the basis of the various campaigns and Twitter storms you see. Do they run them because they have to run an NGO or do they actually care about the building blocks of freedom and democracy?
You get pushed to learn that without political victory you cannot change anything and that some people aren't serious about that. They are busy balancing.
My last word on this. If secular liberal activists / intellectuals cannot speak up today for basic blocks of democracy, electoral mandate, for people of Rajasthan who gave clear mandate to Cong, then their so called activism is hypocritical. #SpeakUpForDemocracy
