You can't change your genes but you can reduce your risk of getting certain diseases, if you're at risk

Risks for diseases such as asthma, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease run in families.

1. Start earlier than usual
2. That are in more than one close relative
3. Certain combinations like hypertension and diabetes.

For cancers, go for early screening

If it's heart disease, you can improve your diet and activity
Not all family members that die young is a result of curses or witches

It may be due to inherited disease.
Find out why.
Get medical records
Look at certificates

Ask questions

Collect info about your grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, siblings, and children
Before you get married, know their family's medical history

Some diseases miss a generation and show up in the next. Do it for your kids
