Good morning! It’s pandemic travel day. Will document. We’re flying to Faro from Stansted. We have these pandemic locator forms to fill in.
Off we go. Masked for the next 9 hours.
At the station. Most are masked but some aren’t.
It’s been a VERY long time. Social distancing stuff everywhere. Feeling a bit anxious.
“Please take a seat closest to the window and two rows from any other passengers. You must wear a mask and it must remain in place for your entire journey”
I have never seen such a clean train. It’s been scrubbed to within a inch of its life.
This train is very quiet. We are at one end. Nearest people are at the other.
It’s reminding me of when I had an entire 700/1 (12 carriage Thameslink train) to myself for 50 minutes.
Check in not open yet. There are a lot of people here. All masked but I don’t like it. We’ve come outside.
The white zone is for the immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the red zone.
There are thousands of people here. Statsictically one of them is carrying SARS-CoV-2
Mask vending machine.
It smells EXACTLY like a hospital in here. Must be the disinfectant.
Getting used to the people. The sense of morbid dread is there, but manageable. I have Valium in standby. Mask adherence is pretty much universal.
Top Gun anthem intensifies.
Obviously no photos, but airport security has … changed. We aren’t in Kansas any more, Toto.

It’s much bigger. Lots of social distancing. FAST. Weird new machines.
