A quick word on the brouhaha around Apple making a “flagship” phone in India.
A) The iPhone 11 was never the real falgship.
B) More importantly, iPhone 12 is a month or so away. This merely clears up the China supply chain for iPhone 12 manufacturing.
C) iPhone 11 and iPhone XR share designs. So Foxconn making iPhone 11 here is no big deal. If anything, it’s obvious and logical.
Why does all this matter? Because it seems despite PLI and govt. promoting this as “their work”, Apple really is showing no signs that it’s gung ho about India manufacturing. If anything, this is the same as Google’s fund for India. It’s cautious at best.
