Syed Ali Geelani: 91 y/o.House arrest from last 11 years.He spent more than 25 years in Indian jails. Diagnosed with renal cancer, asthma and has a pacemaker installed in his heart. Passport seized in 1981,not allowed to go abroad even during a health emergency.

His one son and a daughter living in Pakistan and Saudi are not allowed to visit India so they can be considered living in exile. his son and son in law are in Indian jails since august 5. His family members often face police brutality and are questioned very often.

Yasin Malik: 54 y/o. Picked up arms as a teenager and started a revolution. Arrested and tortured until 1994. He has had cardiological issues and his heart valve had to be replaced because of the torture. Formed JKLF and fought for Kashmir non violently.

Shabir Shah: 67 y/o. Known as "jail bird of Kashmir" and recognised as " the prisoner of conscience" by Amnesty International. Spent more than 33 years in jail. First jailed at 14 in 1968.

he couldn't continue his studies because he was imprisoned from a very young age. His father died in police custody in 1989. His wife, a doctor by profession is fighting against both COVID and Indian judiciary at once. His daughters are often harassed and summoned by police.

Mirwaiz Umer Farooq: 47 y/o. He was 17 when his father was assassinated by Indian agencies. His father and Grandfather spent their lives fighting the Dogra regime and the Indian regime.

A doctorate in Islamic Studies and the waiz of biggest and politically important masjid. His organization AAC helps thousands of underprivileged families of downtown. He has spent most of his life under house arrest.

Asiya Andrabi: 58 y/o. Founder of Dokhtaran e Millat, women pro resistance group. In anti-India activism, she is senior to most of the men leaders. She has been resisting the occupation since the early 1980s.

She established Darsgah for women and fought against the injustice done with women. After the 1987 elections, her Darsgah was demolished by police. She was first arrested in 1993, since then she has been arrested numerous times.

She has spent more than 11 years in jail. She has been married to Qasim Faqtoo, who has been the longest-serving political prisoner of Kashmir. He has been in jail since 1993 and Kashmir HC ruled that he must be imprisoned till death.

most of her property has been sealed. And these days Asiya's health is a major concern as she has been sent to the worst ward of notorious Tihar jail. His son, Ahmed often conducts programmes online and has been vocal against Occupation.
