Okay so incase anyone follows me & has it eczema or just dry hand issues this is what personally worked for me after fighting this for 2 months getting cuts & peeling worse then a reptile as the skin just kept drying up so I will explain symptoms & issues as well as the fix!
1/12
So first I got the Aquaphor lotion with some cotton "jewelry/coin inspection" gloves for night time sleeping (dont use tour nice sheets oily & goes through the gloves eventually literally can NOT do anything for at least 15 min once I use that lotion) it like kinda worked
2/12
But during the day at work my hands dried up so fast on their own not even including the amount hand washing & hand sanitizing I do when working! (& my skin is already super dry on it's own plus dry heat area btw so like its been literal hell) so I created my own work "gloves" 3/
So they are 1 set of those cotton gloves with the finger tips & thumb cut off, then an ace bandages wrapped around the palm, & fingers all of it has been cut & sewn to cover the affected areas. I apply the thick lotion, shove these on & go to work, I can JUSY get to my break 4/12
Before I feel the dryness creeping in (literally painful AND itchy so you feel it coming on like a slow headache building up) then through out the last 2hrs of my shift I occasionally pull them off sanitize, lotion with an alone lotion & gloves on this helped my hands 5/12
To stop drying out so bad at work that the skin wasnt splitting any more (I had to go to bed with my fingers & palms covered in gauze because I was going through bandaid too fast & my wallet cried) any way all this was just "managing" nothing got better it flat lined 6/12
It was too the point that just plain water stung my hands, washing, showering was all painful & I could FEEL my skin pulling tight & splitting as it dried if I forgot to lotion it up with the oily stuff which means sitting there unable to touch things for a long while 7/12
So I did research read that doing a like warm water soak would help before the lotion gloves trick I was already doing, also found on some lotion diys that certain oils were very beneficial (I specifically use coconut & almond) so I was like okay maybe a water & oil soak? 8/12
& omg it started helping almost immediately! The itching was gone! Then a co worker said to try a sugar scrub for the dead skin so that the lotion was going directly to the bon dead skin instead so I made an oatmeal & coconut oil sugar scrub. After the soak I use it then put 9/12
On the lotion. THREE DAYS LATER you couldnt see the eczema immediately anymore (my hands were like lobster red guys I should have taken pics) then this glorious lotion finally arrived in the mail. It is water based so I use this when I dont have the time to just sit around 10/12
now a week later my hands actually feel soft in the non eczema areas, the eczema is hardly peeling, itchy & just slightly pink instead of RED & like guys I'm so happy my hands dont hurt I can DRAW AGAIN literally hurt so much I couldn't close my fingers HALF WAY) 11/12
Anyways I'm not making a diy oily lotion for after soaps & sugar scrubs with the coconut & almond oil, shea butter, bees wax & vitamin E & if this helps it go away I am just going to say screw store bought shit bevause that was 3 months of torture for NO CHANGE! 12/12
Okay so update! About 1-2 days after this thread I got the stupid fluid filled bubble part of the ezcema again (the start of the process) & what normally took 2 weeks of torture to get to the "itchy flakey skin" point has only taken about 4-5 days! I'm almost out of that amazing-
First aid beauty lotion though & gotta save money because we just had to replace our tires & stuff😭 so I'm going to make a non oily version of the thick lotion I made by adding in some aloe with a small portion of it to replace the store bought one for now if it helps more I'll-
-be she to tell you guys!
So far with the first aid beauty lotion & doing a 5min soak with a bit of almond and coconut oil in like warm watee then sugar scrub then my home made oily lotion is the trick to get through this all in a week hoping it goes away after this but well see!
