what do you consider as having visited a place

like in my life i have spent a total of one (1) minute in virginia

don't really count that as a visit but there are places i haven't spent the night that i would consider having visited

in addition, would you count these as a visit

i'm currently writing this thread from a motel room in charleston, west virginia on a socially-distanced-to-the-best-of-our-ability-road-trip to my grandparents' house in NY (we're quarantining for 2 wks before we see them).

I mention this because before this i'd been to harper's ferry WV for a few hours which is on the very tip of the panhandle but I wouldn't quite call that a visit. This time is definitely a visit to WV though, seeing as we're actually spending the night.
