Okay, so another Charleston almost happened tonight at the APD protest in Aurora for Elijah McClain. đŸ˜ĄđŸ€Ź When we were blocking I-225, a Jeep drove around the cars protecting us at the back of the group and tried to accelerate into the crowd in an attempt to kill us. 1/6
A man (I believe a veteran) in a white truck saw this and crashed his truck into the jeep, side swiping him and he saved countless lives. The front left of the Jeep was destroyed and the tire blew, but he straightened himself and again accelerated through the crowd. 2/6
Everyone scattered and the Jeep was slower because it was crippled, which allowed people to get out of the way. As it drove away to exit on 6th, protestors with open carry guns opened fire and shot 3-4 times at the Jeep and into the crowd. A protestor was shot. 3/6
Apparently, only one person was shot (thankfully it wasn't worse) and two were hit by the Jeep. Everyone will survive. I spoke with someone who picked up the person who got shot to get medical help. They drove them over to Colfax and met up with the police and EMTs. 4/6
I spoke with another person who chased the Jeep on her dirtbike and she said it hit another car after exiting and was stopped. 5/6
Luckily, everyone will survive and the driver of the Jeep was apprehended. The man in the white truck was a HERO and saved lives. That was insane. I cannot believe there are such evil people in the world. We MUST keep up the fight. 6/6 #DenverProtest #ElijahMcClain
I just want to make a note as well: I do not support whoever fired into the crowd. That was a stupid decision. However, their action a) does not define the moment, and b) is no where comparable to the actions of the driver of the Jeep.
I live how people judge the BLM movement based on the mistakes of one person but when it comes to cops, who don't just shoot, but KILL people all the time, they are "not to be judged by a few bad apples". Get the fuck outta here with that nonsense.
Final note: the hero in the white truck is named Sebastian Sassi. Here is an excerpt from the Denver Post about what happened tonight and they spoke with him. If his insurance doesn't cover it we need to start a GoFundMe for this hero.
Correction: Charlottesville** not Charleston. This thread has gotten a lot of attention and someone drew the mistake to my attention. I was adrenaline fueled and low on sleep last night after the incident and foolishly mixed up the two. I apologize and just wanted to clarify.
