"जुग सहस्त्र जोजन पर भानु, लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू"

This mean the bhanu (Sun) is at a distance of juug sahastra Yojans (distance unit in hindi)

According to the conversion practices that are used as per vedic literature:-
1 juug = 12000; sahastra =1000;
1 yojan= 8 miles; Thus we can see 12000*1000*8 = 96,000,000 miles

1 Miles= 1.6km this mean the distance is 153,600,000 km

In the 17th century two scientists

Giovanni and richer have calculated the distance of sun from the earth accurately and real close (at 140 million kms) to now officially declared figure
