“none of us live in the aggregate” is such a powerful phrase and I’m honestly a bit miffed I got it from watching a Newsom press conference and didn’t come up with it myself.
also, how is it that California doesn’t have live captioning for pressers? ASL terps and closed captioning later are great but some of us are journalists with auditory processing issues who are watching the conferences as they happen and need captions.
if tiny by-and-for-the-community disability orgs can find the money to pay for live captions for their events, surely the state can afford captioning. you know. for equity of access.
might fuck around and find out if there’s a way I can petition the state to provide live captioning on pressers under the reasoning of “I am a disabled journalist who sometimes helps cover this and live caps are a reasonable accommodation.”
anyway none of us live in the aggregate for … any facet of our lives and that’s why I’m a qualitative research person forever.
