Why Georgia should start Jamie Newman over JT Daniels

-Thread-
Running Ability of Newman

Jamie Newman ran for over 800 yds and 10 TDs in 18 games for Wake. Daniels ran for -155 in 12 games.

Running adds a level to a QBs ability to extend plays/add to a playbook. Adds to the responsibilities of the D.

More on the RPO opportunity later.
Jamie Newman Passing Ability

Newman isn’t always super consistent passing, BUT completed 60% of passes for 35-15 TD/INT, including 26-11 last year.

RPO Playcalling Opportunities

With the running ability of Newman, UGA can throw some RPOs into the playbook.

If Zamir White is as advertised, Newman/White/Pickens running through RPO could be very underrated.

Defense has to freeze to acknowledge the run from White/Newman.
While JT Daniels was the higher rate prospect he hasn’t done anything to impress anyone (14-11 TD/INT)

While Daniels probably has a higher passing ceiling if reached, Newman’s feet can add a new level that UGA hasn’t had with Fromm/Eason. Also can add wrinkles (RPO) in.
