Well this is a way for episode 1 to start.
The pastel look of the city and background is really interesting. I like this artstyle a lot.
This OP was the second of two reasons why I wanted to watch this season so badly.

Oh this is actually sorta horrifying. And is it saying Kowaina? As in it knows it is scary?
Nozomi, like any sane person, runs from the Kowaina, but Coco gives her a pep talk, and she finds the strength to protect dreams. I have a feeling this will be the theme of the show, and I don& #39;t dislike it.
Wait, a villain that attacks while the Precure are fighting the creature he summoned? What is this? Is this an actually clever villain?

When writers want to convince people that characters are friends, they will often say" they& #39;re friends", but stuff like this back and forth sells it so much better.

After a touching moment between Nozomi and Urara, villain 2 appears! He is a frog man, where villain one is a mantis man.
Pretty cool villains so far, especially since they seem human of a sort, but turn into monsters, revealing who they really are.

Urara is terrified, but the one friend she& #39;s made is in trouble, so she rushes back to help, even knowing she has no strength of her own.
The way her hair swirls to get into that style is great!

Interestingly, this episode starts out from their perspective, and comments on how the student body is getting concerned because of all of the rumors of monsters showing up.
Good to see people actually worried about it, and to see it from the regular persons perspective.

Karen is the "I have to do it myself, anyone else would have gotten it wrong" type. That is a really tough mentality to shake, and learning to trust others to do things is very difficult. Here& #39;s hoping our girls can show her the way out of it.
This is a gamble! Especially with how close Karen is to breaking already.

Broken, Karen asks them to leave her out of it. But Nozomi can& #39;t just leave people alone that need help.
I love that this show didn& #39;t just fix Karen& #39;s problem in one episode. Next episode for sure, but Karen relied on just herself, and failed. The obligation is not enough.

How odd that a teacher can just sit here with these students, or walk with them all the time, or leave class early with them and no one is commenting on it...
She realizes her mistake. She never actually wanted to save them, and this pushes her to push them away even more. Now not only does she have her doubts, but her whole worldview comes into question. Does she really care about other people? Or is that also obligation?
Oh man. He brought the Pinky there to taunt them, and then turned it into a Kowaina. He even released it for a moment. How cruel.
If they fight, they have to hurt the Pinky, and it isn& #39;t the poor things fault. But they can& #39;t let it rampage either.
And here, Karen steps up. Now she isn& #39;t doing it because no one else can, she cares about these people, and so she wants to protect them. PreCure or no.

You can FEEL this block. The audio is perfect, the shaking visuals and the shockwave of the attack all sell the hit to you. The action in this season may be hit or miss so far, but when it hits, it HITS.
That& #39;s Nuts is a joke I am going to keep making in this thread.
