Sappy Game Post Incoming:

On July 26, 2019 Fire Emblem: Three Houses was released in the US. I was thrilled to have a new console Fire Emblem game after several handheld installments, but I should have known that this game was going to be so much more than that.

I was giddy in a way that only a few game releases have ever made me--nearly all of them belonging to BioWare titles. I hadn& #39;t been this excited for a game in years. Anyone who& #39;s been around this Twitter for a while knows how hard I have loved some games; how passionate I can be.

Something about Three Houses struck a chord with me, and I honestly couldn& #39;t tell you what it was. There are so many things that this game does well. It isn& #39;t a perfect game by any means, but I don& #39;t think a truly "perfect" game exists...

I have things I wish they went into more detail with, of course, and I desperately wish we got more story-based DLC. I have my own self-serving head canons that I would pay good money to see in the game (but who doesn& #39;t?)

But Fire Emblem: Three Houses has reached Mass Effect levels of passion, and I never thought something else would ever quite get there.

The Mass Effect series was--in a lot of ways--life changing for me, and out of nowhere, Three Houses hit all those same chords.

Before this, I hadn& #39;t written in years.

Yet for the past 8 months I have authored countless works. Some may not think highly of fanfiction, but these are things that I write entirely for myself and my own enjoyment.

I& #39;m damn proud of them, which is huge for me.

There are other feelings that are more difficult to put into words, but it basically all boils down to is this:

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is special, and I& #39;m quite happy it exists.
