These police officers showed up at the Philly Student Union’s Rally/March. As we got closer to 440, they pulled into a parking lot and began filming and taking pictures. As we walked by we yelled what are you doing & why are you filming kids? @PPDCommish @PhillyMayor @newskag

Once we arrived, a group of us teachers noticed the police had walked down the street and were continuing to film the kids. We decided to go over to them, ask why they were filming kids @PhillyMayor @PPDCommish.

We walked over, asked why they were filming kids without their permission. They refused to answer and refused to stop filming. Since when do officers show up looking like a tv crew to a march?? @PhillyMayor @PPDCommish #philly

At a march where young Black students from @215studentunion talked about being criminalized by police, the police show up and FILM them as if they did something wrong?!! @newskag @PhillyMayor @PPDCommish Is this acceptable? #philly

Once we asked them why they were filming and they refused to answer. We used signs to block their camera from filming and taking photos. That’s where things went left and they became very aggressive! #philly #phillyprotests @PhillyMayor @newskag @PPDCommish Video is longer.

My friend @Misscarter951 had a camera shoved into her face as she asked them to call Commissioner Wimberly. The cops told her they don’t have to call anyone because he’s in charge. @PhillyMayor @newskag @PPDCommish

This officer, then proceeds to use his camera to push me because I wouldn’t remove the protest sign from in front of the lens. That’s what you see happening as the crowd moves back. @PhillyMayor @PPDCommish #philly #phillyprotests You hear me say stop pushing me several times.

The only thing that stops this confrontation is this Black woman officer in the video defused the situation by calling Commish Wimberly. @Misscarter951 speaks to her. Dana gave the phone back to the police & cameras went down. @PhillyMayor @PPDCommish #philly #phillyprotests
