The punk v metal talk on Street Fight lately is killing me and Iâm putting a friendly hex on every city named Columbus
Like the whole âworking classâ defense of/argument for metal is ringing a bit fucked to me because Iâve been called a faggot by metal dudes and punk/hardcore people and it mean completely different things. Times have changed and so have both communities but I remember that shit.
Also the baseline careerism of metal vs âpunkâ, almost every metal band eventually sucks shit in order to make money. And thereâs arguments for and against that, but when it comes to building a community versus building a ¢ommunity 
Way more âworking class metal bandsâ are getting bilked by pay-to-play promoters than any punk/hc band. I used to write it off as âif this disenfranchises them from playing music boohoo one less shitty deluded bandâ but theyâre always chasing that dangling carrot
And donât get me wrong, thereâs a bunch wrong with punk. And I fucking hate it and resent the fuck out of it, but thatâs mine to resent and hate the fuck out of, I donât really need outside help.
And the whole punk v metal dichotomy is dumb as shit anyway since every punk I know listens to a bunch of fucking Judas Priest and shit and any metalhead I know jams GISM. Like something the Minutemen said, music is a river or some shit
So now Iâm just gonna spam good-ass punk tunes
