I’m not going to say “never pay for coverage” but I encourage people to REALLY think about what they are getting for their money.

There are 2 readers/services I endorse: @theblcklst and @amandapendo.

With Amanda, what you’re paying for is intelligent notes from someone... https://twitter.com/nevslin/status/1287134955860942848
...who’s been paid to be a “first filter” in the industry. If paying for that perspective is worth it to you, do so without shame.

When I write something new, @amandapendo is always one of the first eyes I want on it. Her opinion has value to me.
As for @theblcklst, I know that a high-ranking script on there can get you interest from managers. So for me, the hosting fee is worth it.

I almost NEVER put a script up that hasn’t been vetted by many trusted readers already. When I post it, I’ll let my most enthusiastic...
...readers know so that they can rate it if they choose. Sometimes that means I can get a high ranking script on the lists without paying for a read.

Reads aren’t required BUT some reps will probably be more likely to download if they see coverage. If that has value, pay for it
Note that in both these cases, I’m making informed decisions about what I’m getting out of the transaction.

Before you spend your money on the read, REALLY think about that.
