I never felt like I was fit for school, I graduated high school with a 2.8 GPA and saw all my friends get into ivy leagues and remembered thinking how much less worthy I was compared to them
the truth is, it’s okay to not go through the traditional academia route, and if you ever felt left out, it’s okay, because we’re living in the greatest time for entrepreneurship if you’re interested in making a path of your own
20 years ago if you wanted to start a business selling stuff, you’d need to borrow money from friends and family and maybe take out a loan, tie yourself into a 3 year lease for a storefront
Now, you can make your own @Shopify for $29 a month and not spend money on inventory by dropshipping or minimize capital expenditure by negotiating longer terms
I made this thread because it’s the season when everyone is getting their acceptance letter for college, and I remember 6 years ago feeling down because i got rejected from every single UC and Ivy league i applied to
I wish I saw this thread 6 years ago and could have told myself to start sooner, and planned my path better instead of wasting those times feeling down and instead used the energy to build
I was inspired to build my own educational program after seeing the lack of these resources for people who want to learn
