A thread on the Klamille “ily” episode thing.

(Not necessarily anti).
Ok, so I was watching the “I love you” episode of TO, where Cami dies. And I have to say, I have a new appreciation for that scene. No, I don’t like it (never), I just found a slim appreciation for it. Cuz here’s the thing, the “ily” scene always left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Not because of Klamel, but because it seemed ridiculous to me that Klaus would realize his love for someone in such an idealistic scenario. As a general rule, Klaus’s love means death and destruction, there’s no way around it. It’s the reason I love KC in 4x13 so much.
It’s a violent, destructive, and abusive scene. But so is Klaus’s love. So, this idea that TO!Klaus takes the girl on the perfect date where they forget everything bad, and then tells her he loves her, just seemed out of character within the narrative. Even if it was fake.
But that’s when it hit me, it was fake. The scenario that they’re in is all fake and fabricated to fit into Klaus’s romatcization of himself. The reality of this situation is that in that moment, Cami is dying, and it’s essentially Klaus’s fault.
Had Cami never gotten involved with him, she would’ve lived a happy, healthy, and better life. But she does get involved with Klaus, and Klaus = destruction, therefor Klaus’s love for Cami = destructive, which all in all means there was some IC Klaus in the Klami relationship.
Now, this isn’t to say that destructive love is good, but when it comes to Klaus it IS in character. And one of the main reasons I could never get behind Klamille was because CK was always so OOC for Klaus.
Anyway, that’s my rant!
