🚨 A thread of players who have something to play for on the final day [individual not team]:
It is often important to find players who still have motivation in GW38. We all know the teams who are still fighting for places but here are some players who could be motivated this week due to individual reasons:
🔵 Jamie Vardy - Golden boot. Vardy is currently Premier League top goal scorer with 23 goals and will be determined to win the golden boot for the first time. He just missed out in 2016 which should give him added motivation. He’s scored 4 goals in his previous 5 PL final...
day appearances and is currently only 2 goals ahead of Danny Ings so may need another to secure it.
🔴 Danny Ings - Golden boot. Ings is having an incredible season and finds himself 2 goals off Vardy going into the final day. With Southampton not playing for anything I imagine they’ll all be trying to help Ings get the goals he needs to win the award.
🔴 Aubameyang - Golden boot. Auba will be looking to retain the golden boot which he managed to win on the final day last season. He’s more than capable of getting a hat-trick against a Watford team who’ll need to attack and that’s what he’ll need to tie level with Jamie Vardy.
🌐 Sterling - 20 PL goals for the first time. Sterling has made it quite clear that he’s looking to score 20 Premier League goals for the first time in his career (currently on 19). Seems as he’s playing against Norwich I wouldn’t even rule him out of the golden boot...
with the form he’s in (needs 4 as it stands).
🔴 Salah - golden boot. With Salah’s goalscoring mentality he definitely hasn’t ruled himself out of the race for the golden boot just yet. He needs 4 goals, he’s done that before. Playing against a Newcastle team with multiple defensive injuries he’ll definitely fancy his...
chances. He’ll 100% want to reach 20 goals (currently on 19) as he’s never got below that since he’s been at LFC. I think we’ll see a motivated Salah tomorrow after his recent frustration. He’s also never not won the golden boot in his time at LFC.
🌐 De Bruyne - assists record. KDB is currently 1 assist away from equaling Henry’s assist record in a single PL season. He’s already said it’s something he’s looking it and there’s no better team he could be playing against this weekend. He’ll definitely fancy his chances.
🟣 Nick pope - golden glove. Pope is currently on 15 Clean sheets for the season, joint with Ederson. Wood has said Burnley are focused for Sunday to help him win it so that’s a big reason to bring in Pope and any Burnley defenders.
🌐 Ederson - golden glove. Ederson is currently level with Pope on 15 clean sheets in the race for the golden glove. Having never won it before the Brazilian will definitely be determined to keep a clean sheet against Norwich to ensure he at least draws with Pope.
🌐 David Silva - it’s his last ever Premier League game. He’ll be determined to go out with a bang and put in another fantastic performance like he’s been doing for the past 10 years. With his recent form I’m pretty sure he will do.
