🔥Burned Out Artists🔥this thread is for you!

I often see posts telling artists not to feel bad over negative feelings/thoughts, which is great, but doesnt help fight future negativity or stop cycles of self-loathing. I hope I can offer some insight to combat intrusive thoughts!
1) It's ok to feel that way, especially if art means a lot to you! It means you're experiencing a soft form of loss because you enjoyed doing art. Try to do little doodles and scribbles. Big digital art pieces can be 14 hour investments, but sketchbook doodles are less straining!
5) It's ok to feel dissatisfied with your own work at times- it shows you feel like you can do better! Hold yourself to that feeling. Give yourself the hope/thought that your next drawing will be better than your last. As long as you had fun creating it, it wasn't a waste!
6) Gaining followers is not only about what you post, but about what type of audience you reach. I made a different tread for following and I'll link it here. Know your artistic merit is not determined by a number on your PC screen, but by your own hands. https://twitter.com/NemiruTami/status/1282644006636265474
3) When you post, only your followers will see it unless they RT. This means your audience (ppl following you) can choose to rt/scroll/unfollow. Its easier to lose them bc they'll see you on their feed consistently, whereas ppl who don't follow you dont see your posts at all.
4) Define what 'progress' means to you. Pick it apart and ask yourself what you would count as progress and try to think about improving. Broad thinking is overwhelming. Start with individual parts. Instead of "practice anatomy" try "practice gestures/legs/arms/noses" Start small
2) Dont push your jealousy aside! Aknowledge it. Question it. Are you jealous of how someone draws, or are you jealous of their audience? What about the art piece makes you feel you couldnt construct something equally pleasing? Analysis is the first step to moving past pettiness.
