i just think if people didn't blindly hate young women and the things they love they might have recognised that taylor swift has been one of the greatest lyricists of this century since she was a teenager regardless of whether the music is categorised as alternative on itunes

a reminder that state of grace, holy ground, cornelia street, sad beautiful tragic, lover, daylight, this love, jump then fall, and the entirety of speak now the album are all self-written and contain some of her best lyrics, and that list isn't even exhaustive

she wrote our song for her freshman talent show in about 20 minutes. it's since been certified 4x platinum. she wrote love story, the song that made her globally famous, entirely by herself at 18, and made it a last-minute addition to the album that won her aoty at the grammys.

i also want to add that working collaboratively with other artists is an equally valuable skill worthy of praise and being humble enough to recognise that creative collaboration often results in the best art is something to be celebrated~
