Techniques you may notice from me (easily distracted, loses focus and attention, fidgety)

✅ I volunteer to take minutes - it helps me concentrate
✅ I will open windows, close blinds, make tea, get up for a glass of water, go to the toilet - it helps with distraction

✅ I stare out the window - this is when I’m listening most avidly
✅ I’ll stare at the speaker - this is when I’m not listening and I’m thinking about what they’re wearing, their hair, a mole...
✅ I interrupt too much - I remind me not to do it but doesn’t always work
As an adult I can do all those things - it’s masking and I’m allowed. Imagine what it’s like for a child. Can’t get up, not allowed to stare out the window, has to look at the teacher.

Only thing which might help is taking notes or doodling- not always allowed to do this tho
