How many people know that Maratha Empire saved countless Africans from Slavery by raiding British, Portuguese and Mughal Ships. The African population, converted to Hinduism and joined Maratha forces.

1. Interesting fact Bajirao had a meeting with Portuguese, they had captured the entire western coast, which didn't go well. The Portuguese called Bajirao, Negro, Bajirao and the Marathas new what the word meant because they saw Portuguese use the word on their slaves.

2. These slaves were from Mozambique. Soon Marathas under Bajirao and his brother Chimnaji, declared war on Portuguese who had already captured entire western coast of India. Marathas won and pushed the Portuguese back to Goa. The slaves were freed and many joined Maratha Army.

3. Maratha navy admiral Kanhoji Angre, fought against colonial forces for 20 straight year and was undefeated. He captured British Ships, which had slaves in them. These slaves were freed converted to Hinduism and made part of the Maratha Navy.

I don't know why the GOI doesn't use the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja to improve India Africa relationship.

My idea is to use Shivaji-Diplomacy, instead of Mahatma Gandhi, to tell Africans that when the whole world was doing slavery Hindus were rescuing slaves.
