so guys from what I have gathered , the look she was wearing was not any specific African traditional clothes , and certainly not Nigerian , since its silky , and the print is not 'African' , though it looks similar to what you would have in mind of traditional African clothes
before we continue with this thread here are some things you should have in mind :
- this is no way trying to invalidate the feelings of those who have the right to be offended and rightfully so .
- please be respectful to those who are trying to give a different point of view

- your feelings are valid
-but please do not spread mistranslations and misinformations just to spew hate at her .
-she is dealing with much hate already and in one of her recent interviews she said she was scared and not okay , pls take this into consideration ..she is a human

so what are the accusations ?
- she did CA
- she used traditional African attire
-she used it as a way to 'scare' people
-she was mocking Africans and totally not inspired by a sauna look as the show claims

to what extent is this true though ?
number one , as stated by a lot of Nigerians , it didn't look like a Nigerian traditional attire as it is not silky while the one she was wearing is silky

receipt number 1 : (a person from Nigeria informing me about the matter , also before you this ss is fake , dm me so i can give you the account , and the purple bubble message is bc i use the website instead of the app ,on there you can have a purple option )
so as you can see , i do not speak over black people , all of these words are from a black person , and i took their permission to post it here , i as a nonblack person don't have a say in this
i am just trying to discuss the issue and see what exactly was wrong about it so we can email the company and see what we can educate them about .
the official statement from the show , said that it was not in their intention to imitate any kind of traditional clothes from any country and that it was inspired by a 'sauna' look
from the statement above you can see that the majority of messages were calling them out saying it was a Nigerian outfit , so that's why I started the thread talking about it .
as shown here , yes hwasa previously on the show wore sauna inspired looks , and this one we have right here was also a sauna look , but unfortunately, it looked similar to some of the Nigerian clothes even though it actually is not one , so its not CA
but if some black people are saying that to them it is still CA , then we really have nothing to do about it , their feelings are valid and we apologize for those who tried to silence you , and we still are on the board of emailing the company .
this is just a thread of a different POV from black people who said they don't claim what hwasa was wearing .
this is a Korean pointing out that the caption said it was a sauna inspired look which was cut out from the video to twist the story
clearly, it was not in her intention nor it was intended from the show for the look to be inspired by African culture , however, if you still see it as CA then it is your right to feel this way
but just know that it was not her intention and we will help her avoid such a situation in the future .
here is a Korean explaining the mistranslation that happened that was mainly why people felt offended https://twitter.com/ddongbyullie/status/1286904255979241475?s=20
point is , please even if you are still offended , please do not send her death threats or spread mistranslations around , we want to hold her accountable for the things she did not the things that people claimed she did
peace.
