why shouldn’t we demand one goal of a revolution be eradicating rape culture & sexist abuses ? so many of u are so obsessed w keeping ur little gasps of power & the security of ur cruelty, it’s really sad,,like, listen i’m disillusioned w electoral politics + idolatry too

but dismissing out of hand what aoc’s actual speech was abt—a culture of permissiveness around the degradation of women—when we’re in a moment of reckoning w racial justice, rape culture, workers’ rights, etc—that dismissal seems patently contrarianist on its face

so if we want to talk about who is “dividing the left w annoying special interests” maybe we should start talking abt who is taking up a fuck ton of oxygen w petty online vendettas & a callous need to put others in their place for not being silent on experiences of discrimination

we all know it’s not about aoc,,,it’s the same conversation we keep having, who must tolerate what kind of abuse in order to maximize movement impact, & i have no interest in any rev that requires only some of us to withstand the suffering we already exp under the current system

this also isn’t j about whether women can “survive being called bitches” (lol),,,i also was/am a bartender & most of u insisting this stupid point could NEVER have put up w what i put up w nightly, bc a lot of u are actually deeply thin skinned irl
