The Bharat Sevasram Sangha led by Pranavanandaji was more social and militant in outlook than the Ramkrishna Mission. BSS can be credited for have done the following :-
1. Emancipation and integration of the lower-caste Hindus.
2. Engaging in Shuddhi and re-conversion of Muslims.

The revolutionary activities of the Hindu Milan Mandir established by the BSS:-
1. Lower castes taking part in Yajnas.
2. Free charitable dispensaries where upper caste doctors would treat even untouchable patients.
3. Modern scientific education to lower castes where they +

would be subjected to even religious education.
4. Vernacular education for the elderly generation of lower castes.
5. Congregational meetings of Hindus once a week where they would discuss about problems and issues related to Hinduism.

The duty of the lower castes would in+

turn be, to act as footsoldiers and defenders of the Hindu faith. Swami Pranavananda maintained that Hindu regeneration would come from the Hindu lower castes. He called it 'Hindutva' long before Savarkar.+

The Hindu lower castes were obviously attracted to the Bharat Sevasram Sangha in large numbers as the government schools were located far away from untouchable villages. Also that the LCs were now being entitled to a certain dignified ritualistic place within the Hindu society.
