#THREAD
Dear Colleagues & Concerned Citizens,
I hope you are well.
I wish to express a need for understanding and #advocacy efforts across the entire issue of #homelessness.
This has been weighing on me since the moment I called my local representative to talk about identificatio
n requirements and related issues, only to be told that I need to prove my constituency with a permanent physical address or there is not time for me to be heard. That prompted the start of this organization and it's cause that extends well beyond the stated purpose of this lette
r.
I need to recognize and thank many if you for helping me learn and further this cause, including but especially not limited to, @RobertPulster @sberg0 @lrc2009 @HomelessHOU's Renee & @hardlynormal. Most notably, my mother @JonesBrendalee for believing in me and @TXHomeNet
@EricSamuels and Miss Foss for putting the time into me and this advocacy proposal template in attempt to tackle the issue present before myself and a great percentage #Homeless people. Yet, at the risk of hurting the objective by sounding like a whiny five year old, I need to as
k for help.
While very intelligent, I worry that I'm not able to formally express the magnitude of depth and scope of this issue: Requiring a permanent physical address of every citizen in the nation fundamentally excludes #Homelessness from legality and poses an environment to
encourage lawlessness, whereas, we are already effectively illegal; in addition to a slew of other resulting issues.
It may be seen as an insurmountable objective, but it is the most basic principal that causes the majority of problems associated with homelessness and relates to
so many laws and departments that only complete government recognition and involvement can tackle. I recognize that this is not going to "end homelessness." Respectively, we will never end homelessness, but we can solve problems; of which, requiring a permanent physical address
is the most extensive. Even the Bible states that there will always be the poor among us, to work and legislate without this in mind is well intended illogical fantasy, at most.
This issue is well beyond a policy or legislative proposal that I am able to fill into this form.
When this expression is successful, we will put our minds and resources together to present a formal proposal to our government and advocate on its behalf in order to solve this major problem that reaches deep into the lives of citizens and homeless people alike.
To every corner,
nook, and cranny of the homeless industry: We need your help, and I anxiously your response. Lives, liberty, and our future together hangs in the balance. Thank you for reading this and for your time, work and consideration. It does not go unnoticed.
Sincerely,
Chase Archer Evans
