Hey @Forbes, this take on @BTS_twt's MOTS7: The Journey is not it.

(Thread)
The article claims that "something is amiss" about @BTS_twt's #MAP_OF_THE_SOUL_7_THE_JOURNEY because it debuted at #115 on the Billboard 200, saying "its starting point is not a very impressive one."

@Forbes never states that this is a Japanese album primarily meant for Japan.
. @Forbes says that "what hurt" MOTS7: The Journey "the most in the U.S." was its Wed release date, explaining that most albums are released on Fri, not Wed, in order to capitalize on how Billboard tracks sales and streams.

Here’s why that's a problem.
. @Forbes never states that in Japan, artists typically release their albums on Wednesdays, reportedly due to differences in how Japan's Oricon charts track sales.

(See the top 3 albums on Oricon's albums chart—they were all released on July 15, a Wednesday.)
Nor does @Forbes mention that the album is also a global hit, with "Your Eyes Tell" reaching #1 on iTunes in 102 countries and "Stay Gold" reaching #1 on iTunes in 85 countries.

Please do better, @Forbes.

Here we go again... 🤦‍♂️

@Forbes, it's not "a surprisingly low position for the biggest vocal group in the world right now" because MOTS7: The Journey is not directed at the Canadian market.
