I’m thinking about that hair stylist working with J* St** getting paid 20k a day and I have to wonder can black creatives even afford to have morals?
Personally... 60k in 3 days would change my ENTIRE circumstance. At first I was like nah I’d never but now I’m just like 🤔 why do we always have the burden of being morally righteous? Yes opportunities come & God can work wonders but what if you need it NOW.
I guess the reward is knowing you didn’t align with ppl who literally hate you but right now that feels like every one. Almost every beauty brand came out and said they barely work with/hire black ppl/creatives, so what do we do
Black creatives always have to be perfect. There’s nothing morally righteous about business no matter how pretty or blackity black it looks and that’s just the reality. Business isn’t ethical. We are bound to clash bc we are the most consumed even when we have nothing
I’m not saying it’s right or I agree I’m just thinking about it is all.
