My 'they won't be players of the year but they deserve a bit more praise' thread.
Allan Saint-Maximin
He's electric, to me he looks quite eccentric. What a signing. Anyone who followed him at Nice will know the guy's an animal on the ball. Technique and physique for days. With all due respect, he's among (very) few reasons I actively seek to watch Newcastle.

Jonny Evans.
In the shadow of his mate with the fancy hair, Evans is my main man. Defending isn't usually glamourous; it's gritty and subtle, it's knowledge and application; making the right calls. Evan usually gets it right. Experience over excitement. Hot tea over Jagermeister

Chris Basham.
He channels the gaffer. I half expect you will find a miniature Chris Wilder beneath Basham's hairpiece pulling some strings. Everpresent since League One; as comfortable there as in the big time. Tactically, emotionally, technically sound. You need sound players.

Séamus Coleman.
His 11th season at Everton. From Moyes to Marco. Always there, always showing up, always unnaturally likable. Annoyingly likable. A give as good as you get, salt of the earth, your ma's fond of him Irishman. Very 90s Premier League. Hopefully not a dying breed.
